I've thought about your question all week...and for me I love music in our worship services..it is just another form of expressing our love for Him. What is music?..not always just what we sing and play...there is music in the wind and trees, in the ocean waves...and God made it all....

Music is vital. I went to a church not long ago in view of a call. The church seems awesome, but they do two congregational hymns and a special and they are done. I filled in at this church about 3 and a half years ago, and it was the same. They can do what they feel like, it is after all the church's decision to have music any way they want it. I Stepped up to the pulpit feeling like I was missing something. Since we should be prepared to worship God when we get to the service, music should really not be to prepare our hearts for worship as I have heard all my life. It should be a continution of the worship that we experience in our daily lives.

Music plays a very strong role, I find, when the services are in a different language and you can't understand anything but the songs.
