Christmas

So, what does Christmas mean to you...really? And, I don't mean the Sunday School answer. I mean here in the middle of December, what's on your mind when you think of Christmas?

It all starts for me about the first of December, I love the night sky and about that time it starts to change...the stars are brighter and there seems to be an air of anticipation in the stars themselves...I always feel it is a total re-enactment for the world of that night when Christ was born....the heavens were waiting for that special Birth...when my girls were little we would huddle outside on Christmas Eve (check those night skies) for Santa and wonder what Mary and Joseph had felt on this night so many years ago....and each and every year my thoughts turn again to that night of Our Dear Saviour's Birth.

I love Christmas, the smells, the cooking, my family coming home, decorating my house, oooohhhhhing and aahhhhhhhhhing over old Christmas deorations,a warm fire, hot chocolate, good friends, more than any other time of the year there seems to be a sense of goodwill among people. A need to be happy and set self aside..
It's a magical time..if you want it to be....a reprieve from the ordinary, a time for giving and sharing, and laughter and love.
Merry Christmas *****
